How many students should we expect?
Max number of students attending at one time would be 28. We can split them into smaller groups if needed to accommodate smaller spaces and what not.
How old are the students?
We support students who have finished kindergarten through 5th grade, 6-12 years old.
Are the students the same as the previous year.
Yes. While we always have students that are attending for the first time, most of our students have attended the previous year.
Does our field trip need to last the entire time?
No, we are happy to attend for shorter trips as well! If you are predicting your tour is going to be shorter, we can also send multiple groups if you would like!
What can we expect during this tour?
We will bring a max of 28 students to your facility at the scheduled time. We have a coach to student ratio of 1 to 14, so you will never be expected to be fully in charge of the students. Our students love learning about different jobs and professions. In addition to a tour of the facility, if there are any cool things to show them or that you could have them do, that would be great! They also love doing activities that relate to your business.
Can we do activities along with the tour?
Yes! We encourage this!
If there are any activities that relate to your business that they could participate in, the kids would love that! But even if you have 'yard' space outside or a conference room that you can create a game or activity for them to do, they would love that as well!
Can we provide snacks or goodie bag etc?
Yes, we just ask that the food is not home-made (this is a license requirement) and typically we stay away from peanuts.
How can we switch up the tour to make it different from last year?
A lot of the businesses we visit are the same one's year after year. With the majority of our students being repeat students, they often have seen many of the businesses before. We get that sometimes you can't switch up the tour aspect of your facility. But some ideas would be to show different spaces of your company that haven't been shown before, or create a fun interactive game or activity for the students to do once the tour is over.
Are there any special accommodations we should consider?
If we have any students coming on the tour to your business that needs special accommodations, we will let you know at least a week in advance! If you have any specific concerns, feel free to reach out to us.
Why do Summer SOAR Tours?
We love partnering with you and want to show off your business in any way we can! In addition to that, we want to showcase all the different professions and opportunities that kids can do when they grow up. We will also highlight the tours and businesses we tour on our social media page.
